CloudApper Step Progression is a software solution that helps organizations in Healthcare and Public sectors to automate and streamline the process of increasing employees' base wage based on their seniority, i.e. how much they have worked so far. Let's look at it in details.
CloudApper Step Progression integrates with UKG software to retrieve employee information, including their base wage and total worked hours. This integration is a one-time process, but it will check for updates on a daily basis and make the necessary adjustments. Additionally, the solution retrieves all primary job information for each employee from UKG. Have a look at the screenshot below to get a better understanding.

Now that we have obtained all the necessary employee and job information from UKG, let's explore how users, managers, or admins can create different tiers for Step Progression based on varying threshold hours. The solution enables the user to set up multiple tiers for each job, specifying the threshold hours to reach that tier and the wage increment for that tier. These tiers are specific to each job, which means that if multiple tiers are created for a particular job, they will only apply to employees who have that job assigned as their primary job. As a result, employees with different primary jobs can be tracked for Step Progression differently. For instance, a general manager and a janitor will have different threshold hours for Step Progression. Here's a glimpse of how these tiers appear in the solution.

After setting up the rules for step progression, the CloudApper Step Progression solution tracks employees' hours and adjusts their wages once they reach or cross the threshold hours set for their primary job's Wage Progression Tiers. The solution retrieves employees' timecard information at the end of their shifts, once or twice daily, and calculates their accumulated hours worked so far. During this process, the system validates if the accumulated hours touch any Tiers set up for the employee's primary job. If a match is found, the solution creates a wage progression event record for the employee, including the date and time of the step progression. Additionally, it adds the given increment rate for that tier to the employee's base wage and pushes back this information into the user's UKG Pro (HCM) or any other HCM solution to keep the data centralized.
In case an employee's step progression took place in the middle of a shift, the solution can segregate the timecard on a specific time and assign a labor category to calculate the increased wage for those hours only. From the next day, the employee will start receiving the wage with the new rate as the rate has already been updated in their portal.

It is important to note that there are two versions of the CloudApper Step Progression solution available.
1. The first version, called Step Progression V1, tracks the hours worked for any job and adds them up cumulatively to reach the threshold hour set for that job.
2. The second version, called Step Progression V2, tracks the hours worked for each job separately and adds them up individually to reach the threshold hour set for each specific job.
