How does the Step Progression app work?

The app mostly relies on the Workflow Automation feature of CloudApper to function.

Periodically the solution synchronizes the Labor Category Profile, Labor Category Entry List, Labor Category Entry, Jobs, Employee list, the corresponding details of those employees, and Employee Timecards from UKG.

Each employee is assigned to a Labor Category Profile. The Labor Category Profile contains the Labor Category Entry Lists and the Entry Lists contain the Labor Category Entries as well as the Labor Category for those Entries.

In the Step Progression solution, the primary task of the user is to set the Wage Progression Ruleset, which is available in the Labor Category Ruleset menu item. The Wage Progression Ruleset is defined in the Labor Category Entry List corresponding to a Labor Category Entry.

When the user attempts to create a Wage Progression Ruleset, the Labor Category Entry and the Job needs to be selected. It should be noted here that only the Labor Category Entries and the Jobs that are available for the corresponding Labor Category Entry List are shown in the Dropdown. Users won't be able to select Jobs and Labor Category Entries that are not available for the corresponding Labor Category Entry List.

Once the Ruleset is created, the work of the user is complete. The rest of the operations will be handled by the Workflow Automation feature of CloudApper. At the end of every week, it will fetch all the Timecard records of all the employees who have worked in the last 7 days. From the Timecard records, it will account for the Duration in Hours for each job and sum it with the Total Hours Worked for each Job available in the Job Details of Each Employee Record.

When the Total Hours Worked for a particular Job sums up and crosses the Threshold Hours that are set for that Job in the Labor Category Ruleset, a Wage Progression event occurs for that Employee, and the Wage Progress Tier for that Employee is updated.

When the Wage Progression Event occurs and the Wage Progress Tier is updated, the data is then sent to UKG Dimensions and added for that corresponding employee under the Transfer column.

This is how the Step Progression solution automatically tracks Work Hours of the Employee from their Employee Timecards and executes the Wage Progression events according to the Labor Category Ruleset.
